University and Heads of Colleges
PREAMBLE
The purpose of regular meetings between senior members of the University, Heads of Colleges and Halls of Residence is to exchange views and information about all aspects of the student experience, including academic matters of mutual interest and concern. Management issues that are of common interest will be the subject of separate meetings between the Vice-Principal and Academic Registrar and the Executive Committee of the Heads of Colleges and Halls of Residence.
1. Membership
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) (as nominated by the Vice-Chancellor)
The President of the Academic Board
Executive Director Student Services and Academic Registrar (or nominee)
Five members appointed by the Provost
Heads of Colleges and Halls of Residence
2. Chair
The Committee shall be chaired by a person appointed by the Vice-Chancellor.
3. Terms of Reference
3.1 To serve as a means of exchanging information on all aspects of the student experience, including academic matters such as subjects and courses, student selection and discipline, student progress, scholarships, Orientation and Discovery Day and related matters.
3.2 To consider and report through the Provost to relevant University staff and committees, including the Academic Board, on student matters of common interest and concern to the Colleges and the University.
3.3 To form working groups from time to time to provide advice to the Committee on matters of mutual interest to the University and the Colleges.
4. Meetings
The Committee shall meet at least four times a year.
