Masson Memorial Scholarship
Donor: The Royal Australian Chemical Institute has established the Masson Memorial Scholarship as a memorial to its founder the late David Orme Masson.
Eligibility: Members of the RACI or registered students of the RACI who have obtained the academic qualifications necessary for admission as a Graduate (non-corporate member under By-law 5) Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering), etc. and are proceeding towards a higher qualification in chemistry in Australia.
Selection Criteria: The selection of the successful applicant will be made by the Council of the RACI, and will be final and conclusive.
Special Conditions: Under the Trust Deed, the Scholarship can be awarded to one person only in each year. Payments may be made by three instalments at regular intervals, subject to satisfactory progress and on application. In addition, a memorial Medal will be presented at the satisfactory completion of the term of the Scholarship. The Scholarship will not be awarded if, in the opinion of the Council of the RACI, no applicant is worthy of it.
Applications should include the following particulars:

  1. Name in full, address, date and birth place.  
  2. Particulars of preliminary education.
  3. Academic qualifications and where obtained, full list of subjects passed and standard attained, prizes, honours or other awards. The detailed statement must be certified as accurate by a responsible officer of the institute at which they were obtained.
  4. Any special circumstances and any description of other activities which appear relevant.
  5. Courses of study proposed and university, college or institute at which it is desired to study.
  6. Reports from two referees personally acquainted with the applicant's experience and present standing.
