The Senior Vice-Principal is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor for infrastructure planning.
The forum which provides advice to the Senior Vice-Principal is the Infrastructure Planning Group (IPG). It advises the Senior Vice-Principal on infrastructure planning and budget, including planning of the University’s built and virtual environment, the prioritisation of capital and information projects, and the renewal of the University’s information technology and physical infrastructure assets. The group monitors performance against plan of the approved infrastructure program.
Relationship to University Committees and Portfolio Heads
On advice from the IPG, the Senior Vice-Principal may refer issues to other University committees or portfolio heads which have significant policy, resource or academic implications. Matters of significance are to be referred to the Senior Executive and its sub-committees.
The Senior Vice-Principal may establish further advisory groups to provide information and recommendations to IPG.

Terms of Reference
The Infrastructure Planning Group advises the Senior Vice-Principal on:
- The development of the annual update of the University’s Infrastructure Plan.
- The effectiveness of consultation processes that have occurred in relation to recommendations included in the Infrastructure Plan, including consultation with faculties/graduate schools, administrative divisions and student representatives.
- The robustness of business planning submitted in support of recommended projects to be included in the plan.
- Quarterly monitoring of performance against the annual Infrastructure Plan.
Any proposed changes to the annual Infrastructure Plan are to be submitted to Senior Executive and/or referred to Finance Committee for approval.
Reporting
The Senior Vice-Principal refers operational matters unable to be resolved at the portfolio level to Senior Executive, and provides a summary of decisions for the information of Senior Executive.
Decisions taken by the Senior Vice-Principal, and other information of interest to the University community will be communicated to the relevant stakeholders via means appropriate to the audience.
