The Sub-Committee may invite Academic Programs Committee shepherds and other experts to attend meetings.
- Membership
President, Vice-President or Deputy Vice-President of the Academic Board
Two persons nominated by Selection Procedures Committee (one of whom will act as Chair)
One member nominated by the Academic Programs Committee
Vice-Principal and Academic Registrar (or nominee)
A Faculty or Graduate School Manager appointed by the President of the Academic Board
Up to four additional members, experienced in the recruitment and selection of students, co-opted by the Sub-Committee
A student member of the Selection Procedures Committee
- Terms of Reference
2.1 To consider and provide advice to the Selection Procedures Committee on proposals that involve guaranteed entry into any award or non-award course of the University of Melbourne in order to identify and select students of the highest quality.
2.2 To consider and provide advice to the Selection Procedures Committee on the equivalence of entry levels from different preparatory and school programs and in particular on proposals under Regulation 11.1 R3 Section 7.2(d) and 9.1(d).
2.3 To consider and provide advice to the Selection Procedures Committee on the equivalence in content and assessment of subjects required as prerequisites for entry into any award or non-award course of the University of Melbourne and on English language competence as a prerequisite for admission.
2.4 To develop and recommend to the Selection Procedures Committee standards and protocols for the approval, conduct and monitoring of:
- off-shore programs, both award and non-award, offered by, and for, the University of Melbourne;course proposals to facilitate the selection of students who may undertake part of their course in lieu of a prerequisite subject or in lieu of achieving a specified entry standard;arrangements with international and local partners for the delivery of University of Melbourne award and non-award courses or parts of such courses;
- courses offered by institutions other than the University of Melbourne which articulate with University of Melbourne award or non-award courses.
2.5 To liaise with the Academic Programs Committee and the Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Committee to facilitate timely consideration of all matters within the Terms of Reference of those Committees which are relevant to 2.1 and 2.4 above.
2.6 To provide advice on other matters referred by the Selection Procedures Committee.
