University Secretary's Department

The purpose of the University Secretary’s Department is to support the good governance and management of the University. It does this by providing executive and administrative services to Council, Academic Board and many of their committees, together with some commercial undertakings associated with the University. It provides advice and support to senior officers and members of committees including the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and President of the Academic Board and manages the awarding of honorary degrees and University medals. The Department is also responsible for managing the Corporate Records of the University and the implementation of Records Policy in accordance with the Public Records Act. It is responsible for publishing legislation and The University Calendar.
