Fees and scholarships

The University of Melbourne accepts a special responsibility to provide higher education of the highest international quality on an equitable basis. For outstanding students with a social or economic disadvantage, we offer a range of scholarships.

Information about fees and scholarships is available from several parts of our web site:

  • Overview of student and fee types: how to tell whether you are a full-fee Australian student, HECS student, overseas fee-paying student, Community Access Program (single subject) student or a sponsored student.
  • The fees web site tells you how and when to pay your tuition fees.
  • Scholarships information for undergraduate (bachelor degree) students and postgraduate students.
  • Awards, scholarships and prizes available to current students.
  • Student Financial Aid services are available to current students. The Financial Aid web site offers information about budgeting, living expenses for a typical Melbourne University student and other advice about managing your finances while you study.

The Federal Government's HECS web site is the source for authoritative information about HECS, PELS and other student fees for all Australian universities.

If you have a question about student fees or scholarships, please use the enquiry form.
