Scholarly Materials

The Imaging Centre has become engaged with producing images of some scholarly materials.

• Examination papers from 2005 and 2006 were scanned @300dpi and converted to PDF files. These images are now available through the digital repository.

• Course packs have been scanned @360dpi for the Disability Liason Unit. Searchable PDF files were produced. The OCR file is extracted at DLU, edited and reformatted to allow access for students with a print disability.

• Theses have been scanned to support the University of Melbourne ePrints Repository (UMER) http://eprints.unimelb.edu.au/

Due to the limitations of present equipment (high speed business document scanners) theses must be disbound prior to scanning. Disbinding is performed at the Design & Print Centre. The image files produced are in searchable PDF format @360dpi.
