In 2005 the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glyn Davis, led an extensive consultation process aimed at assessing the University's progress towards the Melbourne Agenda goals. Out of this process came a new strategic direction.
In early 2006 this was developed into Growing Esteem: The University of Melbourne Strategic Plan 2006 (PDF 488 kb).
The 2008 University Plan is publicly available.
The 2007 University Plan is publicly available, as is The University of Melbourne Plan - A Strategic Overview (PDF 2.2 Mb). University staff also have access to detailed strategic plans for 2007 (email login required)
The 2006 Budget (PDF 2.6 Mb) describes how we planned to spend money, generate income and manage the University's financial resources during the 2006 calendar year.
Towards Environmental Sustainability (PDF 273 kb) is a 2005 plan describing three broad strategies:
- Educating for environmentally responsible citizenship
- Institutional environmental sustainability initiatives
- Research into environmental sustainability
The Research and Research Training Plan 2006 (PDF 300 kb) and Learning and Teaching Management Plan 2006 (PDF 308 kb) describe strategies, goals, actions and targets in specific areas of the University's operations.
