About the University of Melbourne WWW Server |
myriad.its.unimelb.edu.au(a.k.a. www.unimelb.edu.au, www.its.unimelb.edu.au and others):Myriad is a Digital AlphaServer 4100, with 1Gb of RAM and 75Gb of disk storage, and handles approximately 3 million http connections and 150,000 ftp downloads per week. The web services on myriad are managed by the CWIS Group in ITS. On the software side, the CWIS Group uses Apache to host the University of Melbourne WWW Server, the Information Technology Services WWW Server and our virtual servers. Details on configuring browsers to use the ITS Proxy Server are available (only relevant to University of Melbourne users). It is also an anonymous ftp server (ftp.unimelb.edu.au), containing the latest versions of WWW client and server software, as well as other software (WWW developer tools, videoconferencing software, linux sources, email software, internet RFCs, GNU software, and so on). Usage Statistics for www.unimelb.edu.au, www.its.unimelb.edu.au, and the Proxy Server are available, generated by pwebstats. The CWIS Group:
