Malcolm Fraser's parents, Una Fraser (née Woolf) and Neville Fraser, at the family home in Nareen in western Victoria. (John) Neville Fraser was born on Toorak in 1890. He was the son of Sir Simon Fraser who had been a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly and contributor to the Australasian Federal Convention in 1897-8. Neville studied law at the University of Oxford before becoming a pastoralist. He died in 1962. Una Woolf (1902-1998) was born and grew up in Western Australia and met her future husband at a party in 1923. Neville and Una married in 1926. They had two children: Lorraine (known as Lorri) was born in 1926, and (John) Malcolm in 1930. |
