Malcolm Fraser, Queen Elizabeth II and members of Parliament standing outside Old Parliament House in Canberra during an official visit by the Queen in 1977. While in Australia, Queen Elizabeth presided over the State Opening of Parliament in Canberra, and visited Launceston, Newcastle, Sydney, Nuriootpa and Perth. Queen Elizabeth was visiting Australia as part of her Silver Jubilee tour of the Commonwealth. This included visits to Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and, following Australia, Canada. |
