Standard Agreements

Standard Agreements

The University has a standard agreement which can be used when the University engages an independent contractor to provide services to the University. This agreement has been approved by the Legal Services office.

If the value of the services is more than $60,000, the agreement must be referred to our office so that we can arrange for signing.

If the value of the services is less than $60,000 then in accordance with the authority levels set out in the University's regulations1, the agreement does not need to be referred to our office to arrange for signing. Please note that the exceptions to this are:

  • if you propose to make any changes to the clauses in the agreement, or
  • if the agreement potentially exposes the University to a risk greater than the price of the agreement.

In these instances, the agreement must be referred to our office for approval and to arrange for signing.
