Welcome to languages and language study at the University of Melbourne. We have a rich variety of languages available for undergraduate, postgraduate and part-time students, underpinning our belief that a knowledge of another language opens up cultural understandings of a special kind. Whether or not you've previously studied a language, do consider including one in your degree or as an additional qualification.

The Centre for Classics and Archaeology provides students with the opportunity to study Ancient Greek and Latin and to undertake a diverse range or subjects that explore the ancient world.

Language Literacy and Arts Education in the Faculty of Education offers programs aimed to advance the understanding of the theory and practice of education in language, literacy and the arts.

The Language and Learning Skills Unit works with both undergraduate and postgraduate students to support and enhance their language proficiency and academic skills and offers support to students who need help with English language skills.
