Enterprise Risk Management at the University of Melbourne

The University is subject to internal and external factors and influences that make it uncertain as to whether and when objectives will be achieved. The effect that this uncertainty has on the University meeting objectives is “risk”.

The University aligns to the International Standard AS/NZ ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management- Principles and Guidelines. In accordance with the International Standard, the purpose of the University’s Risk Management Policy is to integrate the process for managing risk into the University’s overall governance, strategy and planning, management, reporting, values and culture.
