Intercultural Working Party

The Inter-cultural Working Party was established in 1990 by representatives from student services, the Student Union, academic departments, Chaplaincy, Colleges of Residence and the International Centre. The group has worked consistently since its inception to provide support to students and staff from culturally diverse backgrounds, to raise policy and practice issues with the University and to expand opportunities for staff to receive further training.

Aims

  • To provide a University-wide network for informal information exchange related to intercultural initiatives, programs and activities in the University community.
  • To act as a forum for identifying current and emerging issues/trends/themes of an intercultural nature.
  • To raise awareness of intercultural initiatives, programs and practices, and to enhance intercultural communication skill development within the University community.
