Cultural Collections

Supporting the Cultural Collections

Would you like to support the University’s cultural collections? Funds have been donated by philanthropic trusts, corporate sponsors, friends groups, staff, students, alumni and many other benefactors.  Their generosity has helped to acquire, preserve, catalogue, publish and exhibit the rare and special items across the University’s 31 cultural collections.

Donations

Donations to the University of Melbourne are tax deductible for Australian tax purposes. You can make a gift online. Under ‘Gift purpose’, select ‘Library and Cultural Collections’. If you wish your gift to go to a particular collection, please add the details in the ‘Special Instructions’ box.

Joining a Friends Group

Friends and members groups provide ongoing support for collections in many different ways. For a modest annual subscription, you will receive invitations to special events, regular newsletters and the substantial twice-yearly magazine University of Melbourne Collections. There are three collections friends groups at the University of Melbourne:

Friends of the Baillieu Library

Grainger Museum Members

Members of the Ian Potter Museum of Art
