Copyright Office

Online form for internal parties asking the Copyright Office to seek permission to use external material

Complete this form if you are a University of Melbourne staff member and are requesting permission to use material for University purposes where copyright is owned by a third party or external organisation. Unfortunately, we are unable to seek permission for student and staff research publications and other activities such as conference papers, for individual uses, student events, etc. If you are unsure whether or not you need to seek permission, more information is available here. Please provide as much information as possible when completing the permission form. Complete and accurate information will enable the Copyright Office to seek permission on your behalf more quickly.

Please allow 4-6 weeks to complete your request. If we have to conduct additional research to identify and locate the copyright owner this will add to the handling time of your request. If you have a very tight deadline for seeking the permission, or need more information, please contact the Copyright Office to discuss your permission request.

Although all attempts are made to contact the copyright owner and receive permission, we cannot guarantee that permission can and will be granted by the copyright owner.
