Internal Audit performs various audits apart from those previously listed. On request from management Internal Audit can perform performance/management audits, special investigations or act in a consulting role.

Performance/Management Audits

A Performance/Management Audit looks at the way things are done not what is done. The goal of the audit is to ensure the administrative/management function is operating effectively and efficiently and is operating within legislation guidelines. The audit would also ensure the overall focus of the operations was in line with the University's strategic and operational plans.

Special Investigations

Special investigations are performed when there is an indication of some form of fraud or misconduct or to analyse a specific problem area. These audits are tailored to suit the circumstances but would always include a report evaluating the operating policies and procedures of the area concerned so as to minimise the risk of any future frauds/misconduct.

Consulting
