Divisional Audit and Who are the Divisional Auditors?

Divisional Audit

The Divisional audit unit's main focus is compliance with various University policies and procedures and applicable state and federal government legislation. The audits are performed at the Divisional/Faculty level. A risk management approach is taken and a risk analysis is performed prior to the commencement of the audit in consultation with Deans/Heads of Division and Faculty/Division General Managers. Individual Departments will be reviewed within the Faculty/Divisional audit. A copy of the Divisional Audit Program can be viewed here.

The main objectives of the Divisional audit unit are:

  • to maintain a continuous review of the income and expenditure of the university;
  • to highlight areas of high risk;
  • to monitor the extent of compliance by departments to university policies and procedures;
  • to review systems and operations and appraise the adequacy of controls;
  • recommend improvements to systems and procedures and provide feedback as to how well the administrative and financial functions are being delivered;
  • to advise departments on appropriate systems of control and a wide range of administrative and financial matters; and
  • to follow-up on the implementation of recommendations from earlier audits.
