The Alumni Population - Here's what survey results have told us about you

In order to better understand the scope of our alumni, your backgrounds and career choices, we asked a number of questions in relation to your area/s of study and employment. The results were summarised on 12 September (when 6883 alumni had responded) into the following categories:

Which faculties are you from?


The chart below shows a breakdown of how many alumni from each faculty have taken the survey. Arts, Science and Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences alumni were the greatest participant groups.

Please note: Since these figures were collected, we have manually matched 80% of 'unmatched respondents' to their area/s of study for our records.


What are the household income ranges of our alumni?

The following chart shows the household income ranges of alumni who have participated in the survey. According to survey results so far, the largest number of alumni households earn between $50,000 and $100,000 (34%). We found that 21% of participants' households earned more than $100,000 per annum and 21% less than $50,000 per annum. 24% of respondents declined to disclose this information.

What sort of work do you do?

As shown on the chart below, the majority of survey participants indicated they worked full time (59.4%). Part-time workers constituted 10.8% of responses, 9.4% of respondents are currently studying and 7.1% are retirees. Alumni who are not currently employed made up 2.3% of responses, 6.8% were self-employed and 1.4% of respondents were carers or undertaking home duties. Business was the most common sector of employment for alumni (37%), while about 26% work in government, 12% in community and the remainder (25%) in the not for profit sector.
