Melbourne University Magazine

The new-look Melbourne University Magazine (MUM) for alumni was launched in September 2009, and for the first time ever there was also an online edition.

The latest MUM is jam-packed with new alumni benefits, in-depth feature articles, news stories, interviews, satire, poetry and eye-catching illustrations. The cover story for the 2009 magazine, Alumni in Conversation, brought five dynamic alumni together to discuss how we can all create a sustainable future. Other highlights include Investigating the Melbourne Model, an article featuring interviews with retired Provost Peter McPhee, students and staff. In Responding to Tragedy, MUM offers a closer look at the inspiring new academic and alumni research and thinking in the wake of Black Saturday. You can also learn more about the revolutionary new Master of Teaching in Classroom  Revolution. The online edition of MUM will feature even more information and images, as well as links to interesting audio recordings.

The Alumni Relations team has taken MUM online in response to feedback received via the new Alumni Preference Centre, which has shown an increasing number of alumni would prefer to receive communications electronically.

Leonie Boxtel, General Manager of Alumni Relations, said the new MUM would play an important role in keeping alumni up to date with the latest alumni news, current issues and useful information.
"The magazine has been significantly revamped," she said.
"Feedback indicated that people wanted it to reflect the alumni community. This issues highlights and celebrates alumni achievements - and has largely been written and produced by alumni."

The magazine hit alumni inboxes (or mailboxes) in the first week of September 2009, and the next edition will be sent in mid 2010. If you are not on the alumni mailing list but would like to receive an electronic version of MUM, please email the Alumni Relations team at alumni-office@unimelb.edu.au (and please let the team know if you are an alumnus).

The online version can be viewed at www.unimelb.edu.au/alumni/mag/.

Please remember to keep your address up-to-date with the University as you move.
