Hong Kong alumni celebrate 20 years of friendship
Over 150 alumni, guests and University representatives attended the 20th Anniversary Dinner for the Hong Kong Alumni Association on 29 August 2007, held at the impressive Kowloon Club. Guests enjoyed the views of Victoria Harbour whilst listening to Quanta String Ensemble.
Special guests included the Australian Consul General Mr Murray Cobban, Mr Charles Brent (Chief Representative, North Asia - State Government of Victoria) and Mr Allen Kwok (Chief Representative Hong Kong - State Government of Victoria).
The dinner was hosted by Chancellor Mr Ian Renard and was attended by some of the founding members of the Alumni Association, including Ms Amy Liu who delivered a moving speech to guests, encouraging the younger alumni to join and stay involved with the Association. Former President Mr Edmond Lee and current President Ms Joanne Chong also delivered powerful speeches.
