Zombies take over Union House
EXQUISITELY gross production The Zombie State will darken the halls of Union House Theatre this month. In this theatrical feast with a darkly comic edge, Melbourne finds itself in the grip of the vengeful dead. Who will stand and fight? Presented by Melbourne Workers Theatre and MU Student Union Ltd's Union House Theatre, this play by Ben Ellis runs from 17 - 27 September. Tickets cost $10. More>>
Award-winning conductor to lead University of Melbourne Orchestra in free concert
Brian Stacey Award-winning conductor Paul Fitzsimon will lead the University of Melbourne Orchestra in a free concert at Hawthorn Town Hall. Piano soloist Daniel Yim will take centre stage as the orchestra performs enchanting works by composers Vine, Verdi and Shostakovich on Monday 13 October at 8pm. No booking required. More>>
Women discuss "the genesis of identity"
FEMALE alumni and friends are invited to partake in a lively discussion on the genesis of identity at Graduate House this month. The free women's forum starts at 10.15am on Wednesday 17 September. Enjoy free music from Beethoven for lunch
MUSIC from Spain, England, Scotland and France will flavour the menu of September's lunch hour concerts. On Monday 15 September Vivien Hamilton and Len Vorster will present Ancient Melodies, Modern Music, an enchanting voice and piano performance of music from these countries. On Monday 8 September Natasha Vlassenko will commemorate the 80th birthday of pianist Lev Vlassenko with a piano performance of Beethoven's Fantasie Op. 77, Bagatelles Op.33 and Sonata No.2 Op.27 "Moonlight". The Faculty of Music's free lunch hour concerts take place each in Melba Hall every Monday from 1.10 to 2pm, and feature local and international artists, Faculty staff, students and ensembles. More>>

Dookie graduates head back to lunch
Graduates from Dookie Agricultural College, VCAH-Dookie and the University of Melbourne, Dookie campus are set to be invited to a back-to lunch on Sunday 9 November. Alumni and staff of the Faculty of Arts, the University of Melbourne, present a panel discussion as part of the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival:
A Working Life in Arts: For Love and Money
Who works in the Arts? What do they do? How did they get their first job? Where do Arts students go when they graduate? Is it possible to do what you love and make a buck at the same time? Hear inspiring stories from alumni of the Faculty of Arts as they discuss how they followed their passion and found career success.

The Faculty of Arts will hold an infromation evening for alumni interested in pursuing further study at the University of Melbourne. The Melbourne Juris Doctor is a law degree for graduates that gives you the knowledge and skills to take on the world. Graduate Science information sessions
The Melbourne Graduate School has launched a new range of Master of Science programs for 2009. The programs will give students the option of pursuing a career in scientific research or to enter the workforce armed with both scientific knowledge and industry relevant business skills. International conference- "Challenges to Social Inclusion in Australia: The Muslim Experience"
The National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies is set to host a two-day conference exploring issues of social inclusion and Muslim integration in Australia.
This event will bring together academic scholars, policy-makers and community leaders to discuss the issue of social integration and focus on the impact of public policy designed to facilitate it on Muslim youth and women.
