The University Fund has been supporting the work of the University of Melbourne, our students and community for twenty years. It has helped to fund scholarships for students, purchase books for our libraries and equipment for research labs.
Does my gift really matter?
Yes! The support of our alumni and friends really does help. It surprises many people to learn that less than half of the University’s income is provided by the government.
If every alumnus gave $100 each year, we could:
- Provide new scholarships to more than 1,200 students
- Provide 2,250 student financial aid rental housing grants.

The University’s Highest Priorities
This year the challenging economic times in which we find ourselves are taking a toll on us all, and our students are not immune from these challenges. Our priorities this year aim to provide both short and long term support directly to our students:
- Immediate assistance for students in financial need to pay day to day expenses and free up students’ time for study.
- Long term support for scholarships through the Future Generation Scholarships Fund, an endowment fund to support scholarships now and in the decades ahead.
For Melbourne to remain one of the world’s finest Universities, we want to attract the best and brightest students regardless of their financial circumstances. More than that, we want our students to complete their University education to the best of their abilities.

How can I support the University of Melbourne today?
