Vice-Chancellor's Oration for Alumni'Will the Town Vote for the Gown? Universities in the 2007 Election.'University of Melbourne alumni and their guests were invited to a special oration and forum, followed by refreshments, on Wednesday 19 September 2007 at the Sidney Myer Asia Centre. Vice-Chancellor and political scientist Professor Glyn Davis explained why recent elections have delivered little for Australian universities, and asked us to consider whether the 2007 election will be different.
