George Lambert and the Historical Mission to Gallipoli in 1919 – a modern response to ancient cultures?

Alumni and their guests are invited to the University of Melbourne’s Ian Potter Museum of Art for a forum led by Associate Professor Chris Mackie and a viewing of the Australian War Memorial’s newest travelling exhibition, George Lambert: Gallipoli and Palestine Landscapes.

Professor Mackie, Director of the Centre for Classics and Archaeology at the University of Melbourne, will speak on the cultural context of the works of Lambert and CEW Bean from the celebrated Historical Mission to Gallipoli in 1919, and welcome conversation about his views.

Following the forum guests will be able to view the exhibition. Afternoon tea will be served. There is no charge for the occasion.
