The new-format Melbourne University Magazine is on its way! We've responded to your comments and the latest edition of the Melbourne University Magazine aims to be a truly alumni-focused publication, with a range of stories on alumni achievements, news and events.

Highlights of this edition include:

VCA and Music plan to join forces in new Faculty

A ‘gold standard’ in higher education and training in the arts will be the hallmark of a proposed new Faculty of the VCA and Music at the University of Melbourne. The new Faculty brings together two University faculties - the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and the Faculty of Music - to create the most powerful and comprehensive institution of its kind in Australia. more >>

International award for eminent Thai alumnus

Thailand's Population and Community Development Association (PDA), founded by Mechai Viravaidya (BCom 1965), has received a 2008 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship. The award carries a grant of $1 million over three years that will help the PDA expand its successful community development projects.

Thirty years on, diversity is the key for Vet Science alumni

The Veterinary Science class of 1977 held a thirty-year reunion over the weekend of 26 and 27 April, bringing together former classmates from around Australia as well as from the United States, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Distinguished Melbourne alumnus, internationally influential philosopher and bioethicist Professor Peter Singer will speak on the topic ‘The Many Demands of Living Ethically’.
