Gift marks 140 years of contribution to the University community

In 2007 the Committee of Convocation celebrates 140 years of graduate representation at the University of Melbourne. In recognition of that anniversary, the Committee has made a gift of immense historical significance to the University – a replica of the Foundation Plate. more >>

Inaugural School of Enterprise alumni event

University of Melbourne alumna Michele Hamdorf (MEnterp 2006) recently initiated the inaugural alumni event for the School of Enterprise’s Master of Enterprise (Executive) students: an address by financial journalist Alan Kohler about the future of the Australian economy. more >>

Distinguished alumna chairs international music competition

Penelope Thwaites AM (BMus 1966) will chair the second international Performing Australian Music Competition (PAMC) in 2007/8. ‘Australia has a rich heritage of classical music, largely unknown to the rest of the world. It deserves a wider audience,’ says Penelope, a London-based concert pianist, recording artist and leading authority on Australian composer Percy Grainger.
