Public lectures at the University
As part of its commitment to the community, the University of Melbourne runs a series of public lectures throughout the year. These lectures serve to both inform and at times challenge the wider community and cover a diverse range of issues. There are also many performances and other events held at the University that are open and free to alumni and the wider community.

OPPORTUNITY FOR GRADUATES TO MEET THE NEW VICE-CHANCELLOR
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Glyn Davis, is the guest speaker at the Annual Ordinary Meeting of Convocation. This is an opportunity for graduates of the University to meet the new Vice-Chancellor and hear him speak about where universities are heading. Convocation exists to represent the interests of the graduates of the University of Melbourne to the Council and on relevant decision-making bodies of the University.
All graduates are invited to attend the Committee’s Annual Ordinary Meeting to be held on Wednesday 4 May at 6.30pm in the Sisalkraft Theatre, Architecture Building, University of Melbourne. The meeting will be followed by dinner (optional) for Convocation members and University graduates in the Main Dining Room, University House at 7.30pm. $70 per person. EXHIBITION – COLIN MUNRO
An exhibition of paintings and drawings by the painter Colin Munro will open Wednesday 13 April 6-8pm at Glen Eira City Council Gallery. Colin Munro combined his passion for painting with a long career as a lecturer in architectural design and acoustics at the University’s School of Architecture and a successful practice in partnership with Philip Sargeant.
