Engineering alumnus, David Hawker MP has been elected to become the 27th Speaker of the House of Representatives. Mr Hawker graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1972. He is the Federal Member for the seat of Wannon in Victoria and was first elected to Parliament in 1983, taking over the seat from the Right Honourable Malcolm Fraser.
