ALUMNI CAREERS @ MELBOURNE
The Alumni Relations Program is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of a new and exciting section in GradNet @ Melbourne. Entitled Alumni Careers @ Melbourne, the section will feature articles on career development and will become a regular part of the bulletin from 10 May 2004.

Subscriber feedback through the annual GradNet @ Melbourne survey has indicated that an e education program based on careers be created as an ongoing information service to alumni. In response, each edition of GradNet @ Melbourne in 2004 will cover a wide range of topics from career planning and labour market research to practical advice on how to put together a resume.

MR GRAHAM ELLENDER

This edition, GradNet @ Melbourne profiles Mr Graham Ellender (Master of Dental Science 1975, Doctor of Philosophy 1981) who, after dedicating 20 years of service as an Academic at the University of Melbourne, decided to leave the city for the country to pursue his interest in wine-making. The Alumni Relations Program recently interviewed Mr Ellender to discuss his unique and inspiring career.

* Congratulations to Dr Barry Norton who was awarded a Doctor of Agricultural Science on Saturday 3 April 2004 in Wilson Hall. Dr Norton investigated the nutrition, body growth and composition, reproductive efficiency and fleece production in the Australia goat population. Only 20 graduates have received the Doctor of Agriculture Science since it was first conferred in 1964.

HISTORY UNIT STUDY GRANTS
The History of the University Unit is calling for applications for small grants to assist with publication or otherwise facilitating research relating to the history of Melbourne University. Written submissions, outlining the nature of the project and its relevance to the University's history, together with a budget showing the funding required and how it would be spent, should be sent to Bart Ziino by Wednesday 2 June.
