University of Melbourne Alumni in Canada
Vancouver
University of Melbourne alumni participated in a reception in Vancouver on 3 April 2008 in conjunction with G’Day Vancouver Australia Week events. The reception brought together more than 80 alumni of Australian universities, including a good number of Melbourne alumni.
The alumni who attended the reception were enthusiastic about the opportunity to reconnect with Australia through a screening of the IMAX film Australia: Land Beyond Time and the official opening of the Planet Oz: Walk on the Wild Side exhibition.
Toronto
On 7 April 2008, Toronto alumni had the opportunity to reconnect at a reception held at the University Club of Toronto.
University of Melbourne alumnus and Australian Consul-General in Toronto, Mr Stefan Trofimovs (LLB 1969) welcomed the group and encouraged active engagement with the university and the Australian community as a whole.
Canada Alumni Network
Alumna Ceri Evans (GDipEd 2004) has volunteered to start an alumni network for Toronto and would be pleased to hear from alumni across Canada who would be interested in ongoing contact for an Alumni Chapter.
