There are more than 1,500 University of Melbourne alumni living in South Australia.

On Friday 19 November 2010, alumni and friends of the University living in SA attended a private viewing of 'The Garden of Ideas' exhibition hosted by Professor Rick Roush, Dean, Melbourne School of Land and Environment.
The exhibition provided an insight into the way garden design has influenced Australian history and culture and was curated by alumnus Richard Aitken.
The viewing was followed by a networking reception in The Botanic Restaurant in the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
