Secretary to the Academic Board. The Academic Secretary manages the operations and business of the Board and its committees in conjunction with the Academic Board officers. The Academic Secretary has particular responsibility for:
- coordinating and managing the business of the Board Managing the dissemination of Board decisions and academic policies and procedures and providing advice to University staff on Board operations and academic policy and procedure;
- the development and drafting of Board approved academic policy and procedure, including the ongoing review of related University legislation and ensuring appropriate provision is made for implementation of Board approved academic policy and procedure in the University;
- providing expert advice on University policy and procedures to the Academic Board Officers, the Chairs and members of committees, academic and professional staff;
- ensuring compliance with statutory, policy and other requirements across areas governed by the Academic Board; and
- assessing the implications of proposals for change and make recommendations as appropriate, having maintained an awareness of the external environment relevant to academic governance.

The Executive Officer is Secretary and Executive Officer to the Academic Programs Committee, which considers all proposals for the introduction of new and major changes to existing academic programs and makes recommendations accordingly to the Academic Board. The Executive Officer has responsibility for:
- providing expert advice to faculties and graduate schools on the course approval process, and on the interpretation and implementation of academic policy and procedure (particularly with regard to curriculum);
- managing the progression of proposals through the course approval process;
- maintaining the University’s legislative framework governing courses and subjects;
- managing the Course Approval and Management Procedures (CAMP) website;
- drafting academic policy and procedure; and
- undertaking research and analysis on a range of academic issues, preparing reports for the Academic Programs Committee, as required.

Lydia is secretary to Selection Procedures Committee, Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Committee (TALQAC), Coursework Scholarships and Award Committee, & Appeals committees. She undertakes research and analysis on a range of academic issues, preparing reports for the committees as required. Secretaries are responsible for drafting academic policy and procedure and providing advice on the interpretation and implementation of policy and procedure.

Jeremy is secretary to the Teaching and Learning Development Committee (TALDEC), Libraries and Academic Resources Committee, Melbourne Business School Committee, Melbourne College of Divinity Committee and Unsatisfactory Progress Appeals committees. He undertakes research and analysis on a range of academic issues, preparing reports for the committees as requires. Secretaries are responsible for drafting academic policy and procedure and providing advice on the interpretation and implementation of policy and procedure.
