Lyn Yates’ research interests are in education, knowledge, inequalities and the changing world. Her research projects include the 12 to 18 Project: a qualitative longitudinal study of young people making their way through different Australian high schools; the E.ffects Project: a study of school practices in the context of new technologies; Changing Work, Changing Workers, Changing Selves: a study of ‘pedagogies of the new vocationalism’ in school, university, TAFE and private providers. Her two current research projects are a study of curriculum policies and differences across Australian states and territories; and a study of young people, identity and social connectedness in partnership with the Education Institute of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
