Professor Geoff Stevens
Geoff Stevens is President of the Academic Board, which has as its primary responsibility "the supervision and development of all academic activities of the University, including the maintenance of high standards in teaching and research". Geoff completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne in 1981 on hydrodynamics of two phase flow. His current research focuses on CO2 separation, solvent extraction and ion exchange, separation processes, protein electrophoresis, emulsion stability, mass transfer and diffusion processes, hydrodynamics of dispersions, and Soft tissue engineering and biocompatible materials. Geoff is currently a Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. From 2007-2010, Geoff is serving as a Member of the International Advisory Board of the Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering. Geoff was appointed as Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering in 2003, Fellow of IChemE in 1997, elected Secretary General of the International Committee for Solvent Extraction in 1996, appointed Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy in 1994.
