Subject Description | In this subject students should learn to talk and write in Greek about a wide range of aspects of modern Greek culture and society in an informed and coherent manner, and to interpret short literary texts. Vocabulary and knowledge of grammar is systematically extended in the course of these readings and discussions. Linguistic skills will also be extended through projects developed and reported on in class, and involving interaction with the local Greek community. |

Assessment | Regular assignments and class exercises of 1000 words 20%, a 500-word essay in Greek 10% (due mid-semester), a 500-word essay in Greek 10% (due at the end of semester), a 1-hour written test 15% (due mid-semester), a 1-hour written test 25% (due at the end of semester), a 10-minute oral/aural test 10% (due mid-semester) and a 10-minute oral/aural test 10% (due at the end of semester). |
