Subject Description | In this subject students are introduced to the theory and practice of translation of selected types of legal and medical texts from English into Greek and vice versa. In the process students should develop advanced skills in written and oral expression and in the interpretation of texts. Topics include overview of legal and medical issues in Greece, Cyprus and Australia, translation techniques, terminology, analysis and evaluation of examples of translation, oral and written summary of texts in the other language, and resources for translators. This subject is appropriate for those interested in seeking employment requiring bilingual skills or in obtaining professional qualifications in translation and interpreting. |
