Subject Description | The emphasis in this subject is on the writing of some of the major contemporary women writers of Spain and Latin America. Consideration will be given to the literary and theoretical trends which underpin the texts to be studied, and also to the socio-historical and cultural contexts within which the authors are writing. |

Assessment | Two 1500 to 2000-word essays 80% and a 15 to 20-minute oral 20%. For 4th-year students greater achievement and application of research skills and a longer presentation will be required. |
