Subject Description

The subject examines the Book of Genesis, in light of various critical methods. Attention will be given to literary sources and editing, religious issues, anthropological approaches to the text, and contemporary postcolonial interpretation.

  • be able to communicate ideas and arguments by means of essays and oral presentations;

Assessment

A paper of 2000 words 40% (due mid-semester), an essay of 2000 words 40% (due at the end of semester), 2000 words of critical reflections on readings 20% (due at the end of semester).
