Subject Description | This subject is an introduction to the history of Western Christianity from the late Middle Ages to the present. The social, cultural and political contexts in which Christianity developed will be analysed. Topics will include 16th century Reformation movements, 17th century Puritanism and Pietism, the impact of the Enlightenment and revolution upon the Church, the development of Christianity in America and Australia, and the rise of modern missionary and ecumenical movements. |
