Subject Description | Students of this subject will focus on the theory and practice of contemporary screenwriting and work on a short film project or preparations towards a feature. The short project (20-minute script) will be realised in three stages: from synopsis, to treatment, to a first draft script of a selection of major scenes. The feature-length project will be taken to the stage of a treatment. For those students who wish to prepare a script for a media arts subject, student and lecturer can negotiate a shorter (realisable) script for film or video to third draft stage. Students will be encouraged to focus their work toward the marketplace and a professional outcome. |
