Subject Description | This subject embraces both the performance and study of Australian Indigenous music. Crucial to this semester is the gaining of knowledge as to how music and other facets of life connect with the indigenous culture. Comparisons will be made to western music and culture. |
Assessment | Continuous: Preparation and commitment as demonstrated by performance tasks and/or a regularly updated journal of activities embracing all areas studied (50%) - Hurdle requirement 80% attendance. Formal: A short paper of no more than 20 minutes duration on a topic relevant to subjects discussed in the seminar (50%). |
