Subject Description | This subject examines compositional process in relation to the various elements of music as they work independently and in combination, in a variety of styles. The music of the 20th and 21st centuries will be a focus, although compositional techniques of earlier centuries will also be discussed. |
Assessment | Continuous: Preparation and commitment as demonstrated by performance tasks and/or a regularly updated journal of activities embracing all areas studied (50%) Formal: One written examination of two hours duration on subject material presented in lectures (50%). |
