Subject Description

By lecture and demonstration students are taught basic processes related to intaglio and relief printmaking. Intaglio presents various techniques such as hard ground, soft ground and aquatint and the essential aspects of preparation and printing plates. Aspects of health and safety and appropriate studio workshop procedure are discussed. After the consolidation of processes, students are taught on an individual basis.

Assessment

Assessment is based on a folio of the student's work, submitted at the end of the semester, containing a requisite number of works completed during the semester, including finished works, studies, proofs, working drawings and any other relevant material the student may decide to submit (100%).
