Subject Description

This subject extends the emphasis placed in Photography Studies 3. Students are required to develop a self-initiated body of work, focusing upon experimentation. Students are expected to develop independent work strategies and a rigorous practice with steady output. In consultation with staff, students are encouraged to further expand their own program by bringing a greater level of critical evaluation to the conceptual, aesthetic and technical considerations in their work. Students are required to articulate, discuss and analyse their work in regular individual and group tutorials and to be familiar with the historical precedents and contemporary influences that inform their work. Students continue to access all the technical processes available in the department.
