Subject Description | This subject extends the emphasis placed in Painting Studies 3 upon the development of an independent studio program with a self-initiated body of work. Students are required to employ a range of analytical approaches and evaluative procedures in considering their art practice within the broader issues and debates within contemporary art culture. Students are required to articulate, discuss and analyse their work in regular individual and group tutorials and to be familiar with the historical precedents and contemporary influences that inform their work. Students are expected to develop independent work strategies and a mature studio practice with sustained output. Professional Practice continues and develops from Painting Studies 3. |
