Subject Description | The development of image generating abilities, observational skills and the articulation of these in a range of drawing and other media. A series of 12 studio workshops which create circumstances where students experiment with and develop images, mainly drawings and related forms from life, still life, imagination, collage, etc. |
Assessment | Informal, formative assessment of developing and finished work takes place in the form of group and individual tutorials/feedback on a regular basis in class hours. Formal, summative assessment of the entire semester folio takes place at the end of the semester. For end of semester assessment, each student submits a folio of work that demonstrates engagement with the course, the development of ideas and skills, and a personal direction. Documentation of ephemeral works or works completed off-campus, visual diaries and other notations done in direct relation to the course structure are all admissible (100%). |
