Subject Description | An overview of research methods used in the music therapy context, including quantitative two-group comparison, descriptive quantitative, quantitative case study, and qualitative designs (naturalistic, phenomenology, heuristic, narratives). On the completion of this subject, students should be able to (a) critically analyse methods of research in music therapy (b) delineate criteria for quantitative and qualitative research methods (c) critically examine research designs and identify methodological flaws (d) discuss and debate current issues in music therapy research. |
Assessment | Two 1500-word assignments (100%). |
