Subject Description | Students will engage in a program of practical study appropriate to the final year of tuition and working towards the end-of-semester examination. Vocal and instrumental students will further develop their technique and repertoire and awareness of the stylistic and interpretative characteristics of the repertory studied with an individually designed program of repertoire. On completion of the subject, students should be able to • design a musically engaging recital program • demonstrate sustained artistic maturity in the preparation of recital repertoire • perform the component works of a program with musical understanding and communication • display an assured level of instrumental or vocal craft appropriate to the level of the repertoire presented. |
Assessment | A 30-minute end-of-year examination of an approved program of pieces from which the examiners will choose 25 minutes (100%). Programs must be submitted to the coordinator for approval not later than week 5 of the semester. Students must have attended all applicable concert classes and instrument or vocal classes in order to complete the subject. |
